Hunting San Carlos Reservation

Heading out for a cow hunt next month. Going to DIY for a few days, but if things don’t look good, I might want to get a guide. Anyone have recommendations for one? I usually go to Jicarilla, so this area is new to me. Thanks.

I have too, but trying something new this year. Half the drive.

For me it's a 850 mile drive, which I break up into two days.

San Carlos reservation in AZ is FILLED with Elk. I would think you should have no problem finding a cow. Hoss guide service would be my recommendation if you want a guide.

Nine Mile

Nine Mile is a hard area, need to go to southeast part of the area, east of the closed area. You may want to consider starting with a guide before the elk get pushed off the reservation.
