I have a Carter but like you used the the Little Goose before.. Difference? Eh, not much if any.. I don't think you can go wrong with any Scott or Carter

If I had to choose one I'd say the Carter, but it is more expensive and it doesn't like to reset, but that doesn't matter for hunting

I've been using the Scott Silverhorn for years and it works great. It's an index trigger activated release which works well for me.

I just switched over to a Spot Hogg thumb release and I don't foresee myself ever going back to an index finger trigger

I shot a thumb release for a while but I made the switch back to an index finger release for a few reasons. I didn't like having a semi-clunky 4 finger thumb release hanging on my wrist and I didn't like the idea of putting it in my pocket where it might fall out. So I went with a Spot Hogg wise guy with the nylon strap.

The wise guy is my favorite index finger release. The trigger can be set scary light or moderately heavy and it always has a very crisp and clean trigger break. I have also heard good things about the carter quickie and RX series of releases.

I've owned a Carter, several Scotts, a Tru Fire Hardcore and a Hardcore Max. But my favorite is the Spot Hogg Wiseguy. The trigger is fantastic and the fold back feature of the post model is also second to none.

I use a Carter Quickie. I picked up a Spott Hogg Whippersnapper but I didn't like the clunk of it hanging either. Definitely didn't like it in my pocket...

I picked up a spot hogg wiseguy about three weeks ago. Have shot a few hundred arrows with it and I really like it. Trigger is adjustable and very crisp. Very pleased, but not surprised given that the release it replaced was a cheapie.

+1 Wiseguy Velcro have shoot it since 2010. I just tried the droptine but traded it for another wiseguy with a buckle. The old release is still going strong but now I have a backup.

Besides the good trigger- I love the hinge design you can fold the release in to your forearm area. Once I put it on when hunting it stays on until I leave.

Carter RX2, works pretty well. I've lost those C clips several times (horrible design). First time I used a piece of string from an air freshner to keep it held together... That lasted about 6 months believe it or not... Then last Nov I was given a new C clip and it lasted until about three weeks ago. I am currently using the metal wire from inside a bread twisty tie to keep the bolt in place... Easy enough, been working great so far, threw an extra one in my pack.

I just switched from a truefire over to a spotthog wise guy and love the new rig. My groups tightened up much more than I though possible and it is butter smooth. Best bow improvement I have made this year was this new release.
