Hunting Partner

Hi I'm new to this forum and this is my first post. I live in Illinois and have been hunting whitetail since I was eight. I would really like to go out west to hunt and am looking for a partner/s. All of the guys I hunt with have no desire to do any backcountry/backpack hunting.

Plan the hunt by yourself rather than rely on others then as time draws closer and you've proven some dedication, someone may wish to join you or let you join them. It's tough, way tougher than I thought. I'm in Missouri and as a flatlander myself I would have been dead weight on my first trip if I'd have gone with a seasoned vet. Train hard and when you think you're good, train a lot harder.

Welcome to the forum. I too am an Illinois resident and deer hunted my whole life. Drew my first tag this fall and was in same situation you are in. Lucky for me my girlfiend likes the outdoors and decided to go on a 10 day backcountry archery hunt with me. All of my research, reading, workouts, and shooting practiced paid off and i managed to shoot a big-bodied 6x5 on day 2. Ill send you a pm and maybe we can work something out in the future.
