Hunting clothes

I am gathering up things for a Elk hunt in Colorado., and am starting to wonder if the clothes that I have will bee good enough.

I Deer hunt in Indiana and what I have works pretty well but it is cheaper stuff made by Realtree clothing. And I am never far from the heat of the truck.

So my questions are should I be looking at Kuiu,Sitka, and those types of clothes or will I be alright with what I have?
My first thought is that I am going to freeze to death in what I have. I will be hunting at Elkhead Mountain and I have never been there before.

If it’s in your budget, go for it. Lots of great threads on here dissecting pretty much every piece from every big named company.

At the same time, people have been killing western game for a long time wearing regular cotton, denim, and wool.

For a lot of items you can get better performance and pricing if you buy solid natural colors from mountaineering/back country hiking companies. That being said some of the hunting specific stuff can have features that improve quality of life for hunting itself.

Depending out what season you are hunting, you'll likely be fine it what you have. I'd only invest into it if budget wasn't an issue at all. I've worn it all and can say the top end hunting clothing is the most overrated and over marketed part of the hunting industry.

I have my share of high performance "hunting" clothes, but I have started to go this route in the past several years. I have a pair of Prana Zion's on right now sitting at my desk that I will most likely have on the first day in the woods. Even the KUIU stuff I have I have started to go solids. More versatile and you don't have thousands of $$$ of clothes that you literally wear a few days a year.

Go with the stuff you have. Colorado is no colder than Indiana.

Whatever you do make sure you layer your clothing. That big ass coat that works great in a tree stand in November is probably not a good option when you are moving in the mountains. Base layer, midweight layer, insulation and shell.
