A little late to this thread...this is my experience as far as tall sizes that actually fit. I am 6'6" 230 with 38" sleeves and 36" inseam.

First off Kuiu attacks just barely fit. Eddie Bauer guide pants fit much better.

Baselayers are Minus 33 in xl tall. Fit great. Also icebreaker in xxl fit well.

Tried on xl firstlite stormtight shell. Fit okay until I raised my arm to shoulder height. Sleeves then hit me about 1/3 way up my forearm.

Best fitting shell is my Rab Neo in xxl. Jacket is polartec neoshell and breathes like a champ. I have skied, hiked, fished, this year and is my favorite. The jacket is built for climbers so the sleeves and length are perfect for me.

Puffy jackets the Columbia in xxl fit great as does the Eddie Bauer xl tall. Also Marmot usually fit decent in xxl size.

I have also tried a Kryptek Koldo in xxl. It was not even close. In all I do not even try hunting branded clothes anymore. I have found nothing that even comes close other than the kuiu attacks.

Have you tried any of the other First Lite jackets/tops? I didn't try the stormtight on as it doesnt rain enough here for me to justify that kind of money for rain gear, but the north branch and puffy were pretty good on the arms for me, but I am a little shorter than you. I would check out the FL site in hopes of finding a retailer close to you where you can try this stuff on. Unfortunately for me of the 2 listed in Denver, one doesn't carry any in stock and the other carries merino layers, puffy and stormtight. I did however find a shop in Fort Collins that had some more in stock and the owner said he has everything they make on order.

I have not tried anything else. I live near Denver as well. Merino is all the same in my opinion. I just buy minus 33 and icebreaker stuff and have had no issues with durability.

If you ever feel like trying more FL stuff then RMSG on Kipling and 70 had Puffy and all the Merinos; Gannet Ridge in FoCo on 14 (Mulberry, recently moved not the address on College) said they should have everything in a couple weeks and had the North Branch and Fleece. I agree on the merino and have IB myself, but might get a light FL layer in fusion to wear as an outer mid-day.

I'm 6'8" and about 240 lbs.

36" waist pants fit and I usually need 37-38" inseam to avoid the flooding jokes.

Used cabelas microtex when they offered unhemmed pants--apparently no longer.

Core4 36" inseam pants work but momma lets the hem just about all the way out.

Eddie Bauer tops like their Ascent line down jackets and vest in tall works--I wear an XL tall.

I recently purchase a pair of Kuhl pants in 36" length--they work but if they shrink I'll be wearing gaiters w em.

Not many options for us.

I've Been thinking about just having the wife add 2-3" of some durable material to the bottm of hunting pants if needed. Sad.

Here's a pic of a pair of mine that I did just that to. It's about 4-5" of material.

I know they're not very technical, but for those with inseams out past 36 needing camo you may consider military uniforms which you can get used on ebay for dirt cheap. The ACU pattern works best in my area with a lot of sage, but thicker forest you may want multicam. The military makes stuff in x-long inseams out to 38.5".

Also, If you look around to the military manufacturers you may find some more technical options available in the same sizing like these from Crye Precision:

Not exactly the first place people look for hunting clothing but Fjallraven has a some pants that are un-hemmed. I just bought a pair of Barents Pro trousers that came with 40" unhemmed legs. They are not made from a hunting standpoint so they are a bit noisy compared to other options but they have a durable double seat and knee area. They can also be fully waxed to increase their water repellant ability. They don't offer any camo but they have some choices of different green/green or green/black options.

I'm hopeful that I can find some quiet gaiters to wear over these pants to quiet them down.

I'm 6'9" and 245 with long legs. 39" inseam and close to that in sleeves. Kuiu stuff is closest. Their Chugach jacket in XXL fits well with sleeves plenty long enough. I send all of my Sitka And Kuiu to Rainey Pass for custom work. They have all their fabrics and add inseam and sleeve length and do excellent work. You can't even tell many times. They are not cheap but well worth it. Also Grey Wolf dose my custom wool clothes. Icebreaker works well for merino as mentioned.

what sitka pieces have you had them work on? Ive always wanted to add 3-4 inches in torso length on a stormfront jacket.

check out REI for 36" inseam pants. I have picked up some there. I find some longer pants on Sierra Trading Post now and then. Cabelas is okay for baselayer, but their brand outerwear seems to run short on sleeves and overall length for tops.

First time my hunting shirts stayed tucked in that I can remember. Cut up some merino tops for tail donors and had them sewn to the bottom of all my Frist Lite Chamas and llanos tops.

They did my Downpour jacket and pants, Early Season Whitetail jacket and pants and the Fanatic bibs and jacket. Plus a bunch of Kuiu stuff.

6'6" / 260 here with 36" inseam, 38 waist and 18/38 shirts. Besides pants my biggest issue is generally chest size at 52" and very broad sholders. It causes the sleeve length to shorten dramatically. I have some older sitka bibs that fit great in LT, but can't find any other heavy pants to fit the bill. Most of the Kryptek pants come in 35" which works ok for me. I've seen a lot of mention of Eddie Bauer pants, but I thought the guide pants didn't come in a 36" inseam (36/34 being the biggest).

What really sucks is never finding anything in a tall guy size on a clearance rack or online sale. =(

The song remains the same....took advantage of the good deal on the Sitka kelvin that Dmitriy @ 1shotgear has going on, but of course the sizing didn't work for me...arms too short in XL and body too big in 2XL.

What is everyone using for a puffy?

Called Rainey Pass today and talked to them about custom work.

I'll likely take the plunge and purchase Kuiu or Sitka and have it customized to fit.

Thanks Longbow42!

I'm curious, how much did they quote you for custom Kuiu work? Primarily thinking about tops as I am 6-5 with 33-34 inseam.

I don't bother with Sitka, they are the shortest of all the top end lines. Check out FL Puffy; hopefully Dmitriy can hook you up with one in exchange.

Kuiu owner is tall. Wish he would make a tall line. Attack pant, merino base, guide type rain/hunting shell (longer arms).
