I have size 8 feet but they are wide or extra wide depending on brands. Looking for a premium boot. What are some that have worked for you? I had a pair crispi Idaho II, but I bought in 10s to compensate for the width. I ended up with blisters from sliding. Decided to bite the bullet and get what is correct. What do you recommend?

Do the Lathrop & Sons foot mapping consultation and custom foot beds. During the process they will recommend which boots are your best options (even if that isn't one of the L&S boots). It's well worth it.

Jim Green boots (a South African company that outfits rangers over there) have extra wide toe boxes on them. Hard to just recommend a brand though unless you are able to try them on before buying.

L&S sent me multiple boots to try on before I decided on the one that fit best. It was very helpful.
I am size 8.5 Triple E Wide.

Cheers

I like Meindl’s. They make a series of boots on a wide last. They ended up being a bit too wide for me so I use a boot with their regular last. They also advise to go down 1/2 size. I stayed the same size from my everyday wear and they are a bit long but give me the toe box I need. My problem is that my 2nd and 3rd toe are as long as my big toe. Most boots rub that third toe really bad so I need extra width there or a 1/2 size larger.

In the same boat as you. Struggled to find good wide boot for years that are a size 8. Even when I would have a pair that worked good for a year it seems like they always shrink up after a full season and become too narrow.

Finally went with the Schnee Timberline in wide and couldn't be happier. On my second full season with these boots and they are holding up great. I put about 150 to 200 miles a year on boots with all my backpacking and hunting adventures and these boots seam like they will hold up for another 2 seasons.

Zamberlan. Their line of wide last boots, label is ZWL, fit me after trying MANY different brands. Width up front is my issue and the Zamberlan Lynx that I've been wearing for years really work. Sizing is off since they run large. I wear size 11 and their size 11 has volume for my full length custom orthotic plus toe room.
Zero issues with heel blisters on steep uphills which was another of my long running problems. I also have the insulated version which helps in winter but is not inferno.
