Hunting Binos

Looking to buy a pair of 18x binos for my backcountry hunts here in the west. Trying to decide between the Vortex UHDs and the Maven B6s. Anyone have any experience with these two?

Welcome! Pretty sure both will have plenty of info available in the optics section. Maven has a try before you buy program too if that interests you.

Of those two, the Maven is where I'd go. The UHD is the same design as the Maven B2 series. The UHD on the Vortex site lists at twice the $$ of either the Maven B2, B5 or B6 models. I've had both the B1 and B2 Mavens since 2015 and they are superb binoculars. I had a B6 10x50 for review and I had a hell of a hard time sending it back. On;ly reason I did is the Maven B2 9x45. Just not enough magnification difference. I'll likely wind up with the B5 in 15 or 18x.

I have B6 12x50’s that are awesome.

I own a UHD 18x56. Also recently had a chance to take a fairly deep look at the the B5 15&18x56. IMO the 18x is just a step too far in both models. To me, the 15x offered a sharper image with fewer visible aberrations vs either 18x.

I have the b6. I like them. My friend has the UHD and they are a touch better for almost double the cost.
