hunting apps

Point hunter notifies you when draw applications open up for states of your choice. I think it was $1.99

Hunt stand lite, scoutlook hunting, Time2hunt, compass, simple moon phase, Fishing and Hunting Solunar Time

The OnX app is great, I save map layers before I head out for topo and overhead imagery and I'm set. Highly recommend.

I won a OnX HUNT mobile phone app at a full draw film tour last year. Now that iphone's leave the GPS on during airplane mode, this app is awesome. I use it to compliment my GPS (doesn't have maps) for topo and aerial imagery layers. I use Google Earth on my PC at home, cache maps for backcountry trips, but found out I don't really use GE on my phone. I would recommend OnX as well.

Backcountry navigator- app allows you to cache all the maps and different layers you want while on wifi to use later when you are out of service. Can load in different road, topo, and satellite Maps. Your just limited by storage. Not hunting focused, more backcountry hiking/navigation.

Huntstand or huntstand lite- you can link your account to your computer as well as share it with your hunting partners. Has probably 100 different place markers as well as blood trailing built in. Also will download weather for 3 days and provide a scent cone based off it. However, the app automatically caches maps for 30 days and then disposes of them. You have to actually view it to be saved so this can be tricky.
