Hulk Hogan

Rest in peace Hulkster. I live in the same area as him, ran into him several times. Always super nice, especially to the kids. Here’s a cool Hulk story that never made the news.

Last September, hurricane Helene hit Clearwater beach hard. It wasn’t a direct hit and no one knew the storm surge would be so high, so not many people evacuated. An older couple that stayed was the parents of one of my wife’s friends. They have a single story house on the beach and called their daughter saying the water had come in, they were as high as they could get in the house but didn’t think they would make it. The daughter is friends with the wife of hulk and knew they had a 2 story house on the beach close by. She called and hulk had stayed on the beach and was safe on his second floor. Hulk and his son or stepson, not sure, SWAM to the older couples house, broke through the door, got the older couple and swam them back to his house. Without him, they likely would have died. Dude was a true American hero!

It's so cool to hear stories like that. It's good to know that folks that you hoped were decent, really were.

Watching wrestling and thus the hulkster was a huge part of my childhood. I remember my little brother and I sneaking out of bed on Monday nights to watch wrestling while my parents were asleep. We would sit super close to the tv with the volume incredibly low. RIP hulk

Grew up watching WWF late 80’s early 90’s , this one kinda makes me sad. Mainly because it makes me feel like I’m getting old.

Good advice from Hulk Hogan, “ train, say your prayers, eat your vitamins, be true to yourself, be true to your country, be a real American.”

When my wife told me earlier this week that Ozzy Osbourne died, I didn’t really have much of a reaction. However, when she told me today that Hulk Hogan was down for the count, it felt different. Like some of you on this thread I grew up watching wrestling. He was definitely the most famous wrestler of that era and for me, it was hard not to like him.

This actually made me sad. I listened to him on Rogan maybe last year. Another one I didn't even know about was George Foreman. I have no idea how I missed that.
