Huge non-typical

Let's use FACTS. It looks to me to be a big deer. Other than that I don't have enough info to say.

Actually if you look really close, his chest appears to be expanded, which would indicate that his lungs are inflated, which only leads me to conclude that he is actually not dead, but in fact just tranquilized, and they are transporting him across town to breed with some other pen raised does.

And being that you are in the medical field, you should know..............

It has a tag on the right beam. Normally you don't tag pen raised deer.

I agree Ebby.

Ive shot plenty of free range white antlered deer from Iowa to Texas at all times of the year. Most of the time its a result of diet and local vegetation than anything.

Pretty crazy to see people get so worked up so fast...

Ok couple things. 1 as stated the buck has a tag. 2 I've never seen a ranch that raises pen monsters let a random guy take a photo in the back of a truck with a cell phone. 3 pen deer have been known to jump fences or get out of pens. It does happen. And sometimes they get shot... On public or private free roam areas. That could also be the case. Or it's just a freak deer.

Or the truth is ak troutbums buddy is completely full of shit made up a story about a deer he didn't even shoot... Seems logical

Totally fake. I was buying it right until the pic of the deer with a spare tier, golfing Croc and fishing pole. Nothing says fake like a fishing pole and a golfing Croc shoe. :D

If you read through that link I posted, looks like current speculation is that the deer was a HF deer that escaped the HF and was shot sometime after he got out.

Great deer, congrats to the hunter.

I'll never understand why it has become the popular thing to discredit other hunter's accomplishments - even in the absence of any factual reason to do so. It's ugly.

Envy. If I can't shoot a trophy animal I need to find a reason to prove that you can't either. The "why not me" attitude is very unbecoming but extremely prevalent within our society. It's unfortunate.

I was just trying to bring more information to the thread on the deer, I don't care either way on if it was a HF deer or not. Just letting folks know what the current speculation was. The guy without the gloves in the three photos on the link apparently is family with one of the two HF operations that are in that county in MO, so I'm guessing that's where most of the HF escaped deer speculation is coming from.

I got to say, I think it's kind of funny all the speculation this photo has brought. There's nothing "factless" about my original post. I stated that a friend of a friend shot it, I thought it was a pretty impressive buck so I posted it, that I can assure you is factual. I cannot state anything else about this regarding whether or not it was fair chase, high fence, pen raised, etc.

I posted the other link to show that the deer was in fact dead, after you had mentioned that it looked like the lungs were inflated, just so we would all know. That was honestly my entire motivation for sharing the link, just to let y'all know the deer was dead and had not been tranqued, the other stuff is all factless speculation as Robby said. The facts as we know them are that a big arse deer was killed in Missouri, pretty much it.

My "tranquilized" comment was just a lame attempt at a joke. With all the reaching/speculation about color of antlers, etc., I thought that I would just go ahead and make my own reach. :)

AK, I just meant factless as Eagle clarified, although around here "friend of a friend" usually implies shaky facts. Still glad you posted it, but wanted to point out most of the replies were just opinion.
