Both tents on sale at REI right now (check out the sales, they're pretty solid) and are priced pretty much the same. Looks like the Cooper Spur is a tad lighter and has a few more features, but the Hubba Hubba packs smaller, is supposedly a little more weather resistant and a little wider. I'm a pretty broad guy and my gf will be with me on the hunt so that might make a difference. They have the same area but the Copper Spur is longer.

Any thoughts? I see the Copper Spur get LOTS of love but I like the idea of having a wider sleeping space, just not sure if the weight difference will matter at all.

Both are going for ~$320 right now. I'm open to other suggestions as well.

Thanks!

Edit: Also we are going first rifle season (starts Oct 12 I believe) but may go later in future years. I was also looking at the MSR Access tent (https://www.rei.com/product/171003/msr-access-2-tent) which is a little heavier than both the above options but is rated a 3-4 season tent. We have 0 degree sleeping bags so should we just stick with the 3 season?

if your thinking of using it in October definitely go hubba hubba over copper spur, the fly on the spur is thinner.
make sure you have decent R rated pads

I've had a Hubba Hubba since 2014 and it has been great for a free standing tent. You wont have any issues with it.
