I built 2 . They both shoot lights out.

A couple years ago I purchased a Howa Superlite in .243, Its a solid rifle and shoots incredibly well. The only criticism is the common "Zipper" noise the bolt makes cycling it.

Well here I go . I decided to build 2 semi custom rifles on vanguard actions.
.257 and 28 nosler.

I went with OMR prefit barrels
257 is a 1-8 twist 24 inch
28 nosler is 1-8 twist 26 inch

McMillan stocks

action and barrels are at the gunsmith now. I will keep this updated as I make progress.

I am looking at doing this same process to a vangaurd talon. Going from 30/06 to 280ai. Was leaning towards OMR and having them install to take advantage of the shouldered prefit and avoid the barrel nut. Prefferred barrels is also an option but would require the nut.

There a better option between the two of them performance wise? Sounds like some mixed reviews on this thread with OMR.
