I've got this Maverick 88 20ga I was gifted. The pump action slide has a ridiculous amount of side-to-side slop/free-play in it. Like really bad. Like you'd have to purposefully hold the slide under pressure to one side in order to be able to walk with it and have it not clank around and make noise.

I know these are real cheap and it might not be worth the effort to fix. But figured I'd ask just in case there's a relatively easy fix?

I replaced the one on mine with a fore end tube from a model 500. The 500s have a metal slide tube unlike the 88. I had to remove one of the action bars on the slide since the 500 has 2 bars and the maverick only has a slot for one. Works great now.

Only one action bar? Huh?, Thats bizarre. I was looking at vids last night of people who upgraded them with Magpul furtinure. In those vids there were always two bars coming off that tube.

What are the part numbers for the fore end tube from the 500?

On the 88 that I have, there is only one action bar. It's an older one, so maybe the newer ones have two?? Idk. I took the fore end off of a 500 that I have to see if it would work. It worked fine, once i removed the other action bar. I'll have to check on a part number

Hmmph... thanks man. If I have time I'll take a look at this one possibly Sat or Sun. See what's under the hood, so to speak.
