How Often Do You Clean?

I can move it back a few inches. My thought process in mounting it forward like I did, was to match the peep with the sight housing to help keep them in alignment.

I'll try moving it back to see if I shoot better or worse.
Move it back. Your brain will get you centered up.....it knows that the middle of the middle is the middle.

For sighting in as small of aperture hole as you can make work will help.

I haven't hunted with a muzzleloader in years. Will be deer hunting with a .45 cal this year. Planning to shoot the Hornady bullets with Triple Se7en powder.

How often do you clean your barrels and what is your process?

Typically I clean when I get home, but if I start having more and more resistance seating a projectile then I will do a quick range cleaning. That normally consists of 2-3 wet patches with Windex and a few dry patches until they come clean. I didn't notice any difficulty seating those Bore Drivers so I don't think I ever did a range cleaning with them.

I was texting @robby denning today and he talked me into mounting a scope on it to make sure my load is dialed before I worry about practicing with the peep. I will push the peep back when I put it back on.

Ya if I’m developing loads, I go the scope route before peep.

Plus your gun looks badass now

And once you put your peep back on, if you can, move it closer to your eye (I see extra screw holes). Increases your sight radius and potentially more accuracy.

Measure your distance between your sights and you can use the calculator to know how much to move for a given correction.
