So there is a rifle I’m looking to buy, it comes with a 20 MOA rail. If I get the rifle, I won’t have funding for an optic yet, but I will be using a loaner from another rifle.
Since this won’t be the permanent optic for this rifle, I don’t yet want to drop the big bucks on scope rings/ mount. I found a good precision mount on clearance that will be the correct tube body diameter. The only issue is that it has built in 15 MOA. So I can either run it at 35 MOA or 5 MOA.
Now this will be a hunting rifle and I will use it at the range too.
I plan on eventually trying to reach out to 1000 yds. I’m working up to it.
I guess it is important to know that the scope in question is the Leupold VX-FREEDOM 3-9X40 CDS TRI-MOA. Its product page lists a total of only 60 MOA of elevation.
