I will be hunting moose in Alaska Sep 1-10. Looking to get a pair of Lacrosse Alpaburly Pro. Any suggestions on the amount of thinsulate? i.e. 800, 1000 or 1600 These will be specific for this hunt.

Thanks for you input!

I've never hunted Alaska, period. But my feet sweat profusely. Therefore I keep a wicking layer (silk or similar ) against my skin, wool or alpaca after that, then as little insulation in my boot as necessary. Waterproofing would be more important to me I think. Good luck in Alaska. Much envy.

Insulated boots are for stand hunting or sub zero temps. Otherwise my feet will sweat and then freeze. Well they will do that anyway but an insulated boot would have my socks soaking wet within half an hour of any hiking.

Thanks for the reply’s. I tend to get cold easy and want to make sure I’m prepared for this hunt.

Anyone that has hunted Alaska have any advice? It sounds like most of the terrain will
Be tundra.
