Backpack Hunter - I had to double take too. I got an email notification and was reading the name and wondering why it notified me I had responded to the thread. It took me a minute to figure it out. Thank you for the welcome.

AK Troutbum - I like it. I checked out there site, they look like they make some good ultralight gear.

Mine is:

Sleeping pad: Thermarest NeoAir XTherm: 15 oz.
Sleeping bag: Western Mountaineering Antelope MF 0 degree bag which weighs 39 oz.
Other: Kooka Bay Kookalight pillow weighing 1.2 oz; Sea to Summit stuff sack for the sleeping bag which weighs 4.7 oz
Total: 59.9 oz (5lb)

That of course is with a 0F bag, but still, not too far away from yours. As others have said, you can make it lighter, but you either have to spend money, or sacrifice insulation.

Thanks for all the input on this fellas. I came out of the holiday season unscathed monetarily, so I picked up a North Face Blue Kazoo on Steepandcheap. I plan on pairing it with a TiGoat Kestrel/Thermarest Zlite and a Supertarp. This should shave some weight where I need it. The more and more I read/learn, being mobile and putting camp on my back each morning seems like the route I will need to go to be successful. I'll sell the BA Encampment and the Pad together, so if anyone is looking for one just PM me. I'm willing to let it go at a pretty good discount.
