My current arrows for my recurve are Beeman Centershot 340s with Magness 150 buzz cuts or German Jager 145 two blades

Shafts were $90 on sale, $8.90 each w tax and ship, feathers $$1.50 ea, 50gr inserts $1.25, BHs 3 for $30, $11.35 w tax/ship

Equals $23 each for my hunting arrows

And You?

$200/dozen Pierce Platinums built by Black Ovis ($16.67 each), then I run a mix of IW and Woodsman Broadheads, so average BH cost of $20/each, makes a total of about $36 each for a hunting arrow.

Yeah....

BEA rampage $10
4 fletch max stealth $1
Wrap $.50
Luminock $8
IW insert $3
IW collar $5
IW broadhead $35

~$63 each when in a hunting configuration

Could I build a cheaper arrow, of course. But I have reached the point in my life where I truly am living the buy once cry once mentality. You also need to understand that I went "all in" when I decided to pick up archery last year. I have spent good money on bad products in the past just to replace them with a slightly better product, just to replace that item again later on.

Easton Procomp, $20
Valkyrie Short Jag with SS Centerpin, $45
Firenock, fletching, $25
$85 Total

Around $67 each for my hunting arrows at current prices.
  • Cutthroat 150gr right bevel broadhead = $24 ea (Good heads. Pretty sure they were sub-$20 when I bought mine 3 years ago.)
  • Firenock lighted nock = $22 ea (Pricey but durable. I haven't had one fail yet. I only bought 3 due to the price and fill out my quiver with unlighted Bohning A-nocks weighted up to match the Firenocks.)
  • GrizzlyStik Momentum TDT 240 shaft w/ insert = $20 ea (I drank the Kool-Aid and paid a premium for tapered shafts. They are very tough, but I wouldn't buy them again due to the price.)
  • Vanes ≈ $1 per arrow

Yikes. $35.71. Broke down cost per arrow:

VAP shafts - $14.16
75g Inserts - $3.16
White Nocks - $0.58
AAE plastifletch vanes (4) - $0.48
4" wrap - $0.66
Rage broad heads - $16.67

I don't wanna know.

My trad arrows are like $8.30/shaft, $1.40 insert, $1.21 feather, plus an iron will.

Shooting a deer with my recurve........

Priceless.

Since I have a new bow to build arrows for, how do you like those 2 broad heads.

My current arrows are GT Kinetic XT 200's with HIT inserts, Bohning A-nocks, 2" NAP QS's or 2.1" Q2i Fusion Xii's, and either 125gr QAD Exodus or GR Fatal Steel heads. They come in right at $18 an arrow with the BH's making up $12 of that.

Black Eagle X-Impact $200 (local store did the cut and fletch AAE Max Stealth which is a touch over internet prices but having a local shop was worth the extra $) = $16.67/arrow
Magnus Stinger 4 125s $36 = $12/broadhead

$28.67 each

FWIW a friend shoots Cabela's Stalker Extremes and I think those were $80/dozen cut and does just fine. Mine have a bit more FOC though his costs are less than half and he still shoots good groups.

Same setup here, though no wraps and I use the included BEA vanes.

Both good....I have shot multiple animals with a couple of the Buzzcuts, then touch them up and back in the quiver....so really my cost per animal is half or 1/3rd per arrow.....as I wreck very few carbon arrows. I do lose a few though burying them in the dirt after blowing through the animal. Both great steel.

I think I like the GJ's a little bit better....they are a bit stronger probably because they are a little shorter....both about $30 for 3.

I've had great blood trails with these...except for my last Coues buck....but it was due to the shot location angling through him diagonally lodging part way through the off shoulder blade....buck only went 50 yds.

RIP TKO $200
Iron Will 25gr Collars $75 + $8 shipping
Iron Will Stainless 100gr inserts $40
PM 2.0 vanes $30
Arrowaps reflective $25

G5 Dead Meat $15ea

$378/12

$46 an arrow to build all new.

I bought my last dozen used, sold the inserts and got a dozen collars for free doing another trade. And I took in a bunch of dead meats on trade too for next to nothing. I can reuse the IW components too as long as I don’t lose them so that puts me around $180/12

$180/12 or $15 bucks an arrow unless I lose them and can’t reuse components.

Shooting 26” CTC arrows I have pretty good luck finding used. I can also reuse the IW components as long as I don’t lose arrows so as long as I find some good buys on arrows here and there I can some pretty awesome arrows for pretty cheap.

Ill play but I already regret it.

Firenocks practice - $6.50

Broadhead arrows with firenock - $74.30
