27 years and counting in Washington. Booked my Dall sheep hunt in the Alaska Range in 07.
If I never draw in Wa, I’m glad I had the Alaska experience.

I’ll start
took me 33 years
finally drew in Idaho 2015. Had only tag in unit and 6 week season
fun hunt. Was it worth 33 year wait? Nothing is worth waiting that long I don’t think. But sure glad I got to hunt them.
this year I get to hunt moose in Montana

27 and still counting.

I'm a little pup and have 10 MT res. I would like to hunt sheep someday so Im not applying for breaks. Couple buddies have been successful on the unlimited tags, i always get a little tempted each year to press the easy button and put a tag in my pocket.

Drew a Rocky on my first try in 2017, then a Mountain Goat tag in 2020 and a California Ram tag in 2021 - a 5 year span in Idaho. Tagged out on them all too.

Crazy luck, I know we have the best odds of any state but I’ve put in for sheep(or goat a few times) for 15+ years now in Idaho with no luck

I hunted Dall Sheep as a resident of Alaska during the late '70s. A Dall Sheep tag was part of your $12 OTC general hunting license. The license also included a moose tag, 2 goat tags, 3 black bear tags, and several caribou tags. OTC Grizzly tags were an extra $25.

As a resident of Colorado in the mid '80s I drew a Big Horn sheep tag with 3 preference points.

Resident license fees have definitely gone up in Alaska since then... but I'm still amazed and thankful for the multiple-species opportunities included with that base resident license or simply via the free registration hunts.

22 or 23 years for my first sheep tag. I feel like all my luck is used up since I’ve also drawn three goat tags in different states over the past 24 years.

Drew Idaho Cali bighorn on my first attempt, wife drew mountain goat that year, also her first attempt.
I was fortunate to draw all once-in-a-lifetime ID tags in nine short years... didn't fill the Rocky tag in '11 though, the fire and smoke were overwhelming.

Nine years, wow! I definitely haven’t used up all my luck compared to Broomd lol
