two things primarily affect the brass,

number one- sizing no more than necessary, which means two things. you adjust the die to size as little as possible and the die is a match for the chamber. for the first couple shots i just neck size to get the case to fill the chamber. i dont want to have the die set to bump back and or size the body until it is really necessary.

and number two- pressure. more pressure less shots per case.

i have got 1000 shots out of 15 cases in the past. that is 66 shots per case.

i was talking about this with a fellow last weekend that said he expects to get 2000 shots out of 18 cases without annealing.

You should have no problem getting 5 or 6 realoadings with 30-06 brass from a Rem 700. I full length size all of my brass and use a Browning BAR and I get that many. No annealing. Just make sure you check your brass after each realoading and trim it to length if need be.
You'll probably find that 30-06 brass is pretty easy to come by too. I don't shoot my 06 all that much really, but I don't think I have bought brass for it in 15 years.

Watch for case head separation right above the belt on belted magnums. I’ve found right above the belt on magnums gets weak after a few firings.

Some of you folks sure make me feel better for only getting 7 reloads on my soft 7RM Nosler brass. Since then I’ve switched to a slower powder and haven’t been trimming just to get away from flattened primers and extend brass life respectively.
