All hunting? Boy. Lets see. 2025. Days in the field with a weapon looking for game.

Mule Deer - 7
Whitetail Deer - 80-90 - Mid Sept through Mid Feb, hunt for work some and after work a lot, and every weekend.
Turkey - 10-15
Quail - 10
Ducks 5-10
Dove - 5
Pheasant - 2
Hog/Coyote (Nights) - 30-40 (every weekend almost Feb through Sept)

Total 149 to 174 days is my conservative estimate, that’s individual days where I spent atleast part of the day chasing an animal.

I used time in the field to actually total the full days. I spent many more partial days than what I listed but the cumulative totals are close.

Cool thread that actually got me thinking about how much I hunted. 26 days is pretty good ROI for the meat I’ve got in the freezer.

I will go coyote calling multiple times per week Dec-March so it really skews the numbers.

Sadly elk has always been 5.5 or 6 days for last 10+ years...but I'll take it every year if I can.

I have been prioritizing spending time with my newborn. Could have done waterfowl over the Christmas break but it was pretty awesome to wake up to a happy baby.

Due to 2 deaths/funerals in my family during various seasons and a dreadful illness on another, not nearly as many as I had hoped. 12 I think.

31 or 32 days on various big game hunts. 40+ if counting turkey/grouse/pheasant days.

I spent over 120 days pursuing stuff to kill in 2025. Not all were full days but days I’ve marked in the journal as dates I was out. I surpassed 300 total days on public and private timber lands between working and playing in 2025. Being in the woods is my social life is what my buddies say.
