How many arrows a day do you shoot? Do you shoot groups or strings of arrows? Do you shoot one arrow?

I shoot one arrow (cold) 4-5 times throughout the day. Then at low light (when it's finally cool enough) I shoot 25-30 arrows out to 35 yards. I hope I can be blessed enough this September to get a shot inside 20 yards.

Right now I'm shooting 4 shot groups 10,20,30,40 yds. I'll start at 10 and go to 40 then 40,30,20. In a week or so I'll switch to shooting at tennis balls in the yard and stumpin'.

I haven't had much time to shoot lately. Its gotten to the point that my shoulders get fatigued after 25-30 shots now. When I do shoot its usually two arrows at a time out to 40 yards until Im too shaky to keep it up. I may end up shooting the compound for the first time in 10 years this season.

Oh no you said the "C" word. During the week i usually shoot inside my house. I can only muster 15 yards inside so I alternate between 1 arrow shots and groups. The wife is not a fan, but it keeps things consistent. Weekends I will move around and shoot 3 arrow groups from different angles/distances. I don't really add it up per day, but i would guess probably around 50 shots on a normal day, then prob 10-20 on some days.

I'm currently shooting a couple of short sessions twice a day, both early and late when it's a bit cooler. I keep a target set up in my backyard and I usually shoot a couple of arrows from 60, 50, 40, 30, and 20 yards in that order, but I've always been a fan of mixing it up so that varies a bit. So right now I probably shoot a couple dozen arrows a day, plus/minus. I don't ever plan to shoot an animal any farther than I have to, but I have consistently practiced much farther than I intend to shoot. During the 3D archery boom about 30 years ago, when I both shot and hunted a lot more than I do now, I practiced out to 80 yards on a daily basis.

It's always amazed me how much that focus and form required to shoot from afar helps make those normal 20-30 yard shots seem so easy and it's made me a very consistent 40-50 yard shooter. Even so, I remain extremely conscientious in my shot selection and the closer I can get to my quarry the better.

I'll bow hunt antelope and elk in Wyoming during September, and then whitetail in Iowa during the November rut. Can't wait!

At this point, I find I shot better by shooting less, I practice 2 times a week for about 30 min, around 15-20 shots with a judo point at various distances, I no longer shot groups at commercial targets or back stops.

bettwen the 2 practice days I will shot 2 of those days, 3 arrows in my garage at 5 yards to work on form and my shot sequence..

i did the math I spend about 2 hrs a week shooting, now it took 4 years to get to this point, but 2 hrs a week is not much after the initial hardwork, so guys who claim it takes 2 much time, at 1st it requires work
