How far up the stock should a rifle barrel be free floated?

Hey everyone this is my first tikka t3x and I noticed that the barel isn’t fully free floating? All of my other rifles are. Just wondering if I should open the stock up or if it matters

Thats normal for factory tikkas. Shoot it first, if it groups we'll don't free float.

Yep, there is a little bump in the barrel channel of Tikka factory stocks that applies slight upward pressure the barrel. In my opinion, it isn't necessary, but as always, shoot the gun and let it tell you what it wants.

Both of mine were like that. But I'm a free float guy for damn near 35 years. So I opened up the channel slightly on both my T3 and my CTR. Enough to slide 2 index cards all the way to the action. Both drive tacks but never shot them stock form so have nothing to compare.

Thanks everyone. I haven’t had time to shoot it yet. Just currently rigging it up and was curious if I should open the stock up more
