How far away was your moose when you shot it?

My Colorado shiras was at 55 yards. He was at about 25 originally but him and cow spooked and started running. Thankfully he stopped at 55

Got my first moose last week, 308 yards. My father got one 2 years ago at about 20 yards

2 weeks ago I made my longest shot ever on a moose...just over 20 yards. Really blew up my average distance of 9 yards. But hey....I'll take it and work harder at getting a closer shot next season. I love smelling them before I shoot them.

I was fortunate to get my 1st moose 2 weeks ago in NL. 300 win mag at 45 yds. I now long to do what Kevin does every year in Alaska. Drop camp DIY. Just have to find a suitable partner to go.

75, 150, 150, 250, 450. Moose have big lungs and take a while to fall over sometimes. My biggest was my first. He was 71" and I shot him with a 7MM twice in the lungs -he didn't even flinch and then twice in the neck..last shot broke his neck. 450 yard shot was after I had climbed a mountain after seeing him from mile away. This was day 7 of a 10 day hunt and I was worn out. My last 4 I used a 338 with 225 gr. The other 4 were all 65" taken in Alaska and BC.
