I have had kenetreks and hanwag Alaskans but cabelas Alaska hikers are the ones I currently use. I have big toe joint problems and need stiff boots. These boots get used for two weeks of wyoming elk hunting every year and I used them on a BC Stone sheep hunt this year. They fit my feet best, protect my feet well, and have lasted great.

I am pleased with my Meindls. Had them for three years with zero issues. Used in Washington, Colorado and Montana for hiking snow shoeing and early/late season hunting.

Thanks for all of the input guys. Lots to consider but by the sounds of it these boots can hang with any of them.

I have a 2 seasons on my Denali. Great boot. They a leaking water now but served their purpose well with lots of miles on them. I also wear their boots at work. I think it is the Canadian boot and Hoffman boots puts a climbing sole with a double shank on them. These boots hold up great as well. I have had a couple issues with the sole but that is due to Hoffman.

I've hunted sheep in the brooks range with perfekts (older style without the rand). They worked great. I went to Denali's since then, and like those too. Much stiffer than the Perfekts, better protection and lighter.

I'd think the new perfekt extreme would be a great boot for less vertical stuff, but I've never worn them. Depending on how much shale you end up playing in, a rubber rand may or may not be needed.
