I did the BC thing a couple of years ago. Its all about what you want, when I decided to go, I sold a few guns that I had aquired through the years that I didn't need. I also worked a bunch of side jobs. After putting in for goat tags in several states for several years, I just decided it was time.
It was a great experience, BUT it wasn't as rewarding as a DIY hunt. That is something to consider.
