How close is to close?

Both should. Will be checking in a couple of hours. Everything seems good to go.

Looks like it will function, but leaves no room for any sort of cover. Might be a good idea to bump it up a little to allow for scope caps or neoprene cover for weather.

Makes my neck hurt looking at it - my trend is higher rings for more erect head

I agree with hydra6. Place the scope where it is the right height to get behind comfortably. Don't worry about trying to get it as low as possible.

Both worked out well. No issues and sight alignment was good since both stocks have adjustable cheek rests.....not that I had to raise them much!!!
