A lot of redundancy here and a lot of stuff not on hand, but this will be good starting point.

Somebody won’t let me way my sleeping bag. Hahahah. EB0E431E-D6DB-415F-8555-FFC108C59348.jpeg9F932686-7533-481C-AE3A-08A850F01F0F.jpegCDBC2BC4-94D7-4D62-A0A3-6DDF2350757C.jpeg

This is a wish list and redundant redundancies a lot. Got a wait on every single thing. Now I can start to whittle down.

I see two pairs of boots. You have earned one demerit.

Two backpacks? You have earned two additional demerits.

I've never been on a similar hunt, so don't know squat. My demerits are meaningless.
pair of hiking boots and a pair of wading boots. I will wear the wading boots into the field with waders.

Two packs? Plan is to load up the frame pack and orange bag to capacity as checked luggage along with rifle case. The other backpack will be carry on with optics, gps, change of clothes, phone charger, toiletries. No telling what will go into the field and what won’t.

Super excited for ya! Feel free to help us out by throwing up your gear list! 60 lbs for a drop in hunt seems like nothing with food and everything I’d love to see how you do it!

That all makes sense and I should have noticed the wading boots. I have now earned a demerit...

I'm learning by reading this post, really hope to do a similar hunt in a few years. GO NOW!!! Getting older sucks.

Is that the toadfish take down rod I see there?
It is. With a semi cheap diawa on it. Rod and tube was like $160 and rod came with two mid sections (med light and medium) and two tip sections (moderate and fast)…. So while price might have been a bit steep, i got basically two rods and a tube for that.

Rod ugly as sin, but it’s pretty nice. I like it action on it.

Hope i didn’t mess up with the $100 reel purchase. I usually go throw-away quality on little spinning reels or high dollar. Just cannot justify 30 bucks on this trip, but also didn’t want to spend a lot because I’ve been simply hemorrhaging money lately.

Started putting stuff together myself, for 2023 just to see if I needed to buy more lightweight stuff and was presently surprised at how much stuff I can take in 60 lbs!

Hahah. I’ve got some work to do. Again, this was just simply first stab at it. I’m not too worried about. I’ve been just tossing stuff in the corner of room and Cindy m finally decided to get a pulse on where things stand. I’ll be able to get it down. No food included. Some stuff that’s shared. Nothing included that will be worn into field. Fee for flight into field includes tent, kitchen and food. He said 60 pounds each, plus what wearing, plus weapon in soft case.

I just split it up into categories and it’s clothing that’s eating my lunch!

Optics - 7.97

Tools - 10.16

Bags - 10.18

Clothing - 34.35

Creature comforts - 13.54

Fishing - 3.5

eliminate the GPS. use your phone w/GAIA or OnX for gps mapping. by doing so your eliminating the weight and the additional charging need. brings up another point, I don't see solar for charging phone and/rescue/transporter communication device (also not seen).
