How are you packing your stoves?

Just received an 18" Kifaru Smith Cylinder stove with a 7' pipe. just curious how you guys are packing yours? I rolled up the stove body and the pipe as tight as I could and used some Velcro straps to keep them secure. The whole stove broken down fits nicely in the Kifaru stove bag that came with it. The bag has loops on it, and it seems like I could lash the bag to the webbing on my pack pretty nicely. Thanks for any input. Can't wait to take her for a test run in my Cimarron.

That's what I did, run compression straps through loops on bag, just need to be careful taking pack off so you don't crush it.

I'm curious about this too. Seems like dropping the bag and storing the parts in various pockets or in the main pack would cut a little weight, but was concerned that everything might be covered in soot if I did that? Is this much of an issue? That black bag isn't really heavy, but it's much heavier than a kifaru pullout. I think it might be insulated so that you could still pack up without having to let everything completely cool first?

It was suggested to me that I carry the stove between the lid and bag of my pack. I'll give that a shot or possibly hang the stove bag off on the side of my AMR.

Soot is definitely an issue!!! Here's how I did it, run compression straps through the loops on the stove bag. On "Kifaru Insiders" Facebook page, there Was a guy made a stove holder out of what looks like a shipping tube or something, but I doubt it's lighter that the bag the stove comes in

SO SXL riding in it's bag, tucked between the compression talon, and main bag of the Unaweep 4800.

MontanaMarine, Sweet setup! I like that blaze orange panel you have there! I run a Kifaru AMR with guide lid and Grab-it. if I'm bowhunting, on the hike in I generally have my bow strapped to the back of my pack with a cam in the grab-it. If I'm rifle hunting I keep the rifle in the gun bearer which would free up space in the grab-it for the stove as you're carrying yours there.

I like to pack mine in my buddy's pack. :) Seriously, I put it on top of my pack under the lid.

That compression panel is the standard panel from Seek Outside. It's not just a panel, it has a zipper along the left side with about 1000 CI storage space, and a mesh underside pocket designed to hold a water bladder. They make the panels in several colors. I went hunter orange for hunting season, but might get another more subdued color for the rest of the year. I keep binos, gloves, knife, etc in there. Quick access stuff.
