How are you guys keeping your scopes covered?

What kind of scope covers are you guys using? I was wanting to get some flip covers but im afraid to cover up the rear ocular adjustment in case it's needed. So what are you guys running? neoprene "Sock" style? Regular ole plastic slip covers?

On my SWFA scopes, I was using the cheap “scope condom” style until my dog chewed it up.

On my Trijicon, I use the clear plastic ones that came with it.

I hate the outrageous price they charge, but eventually I will order a set of Scope Bumper caps for my primary and secondary hunting rifles.

Butler Creek caps are less than $10 and work great for me. Hardcore, professional, paid-to-hunt 365 hunters have said that they can break, but at that price you can buy 10 compared to top shelf analogs. I haven't broken any, and I've fallen on my rifles several times and beat through some nasty brush fairly often (compared to most mortal hunters).

...also, you shouldn't be adjusting your ocular focus that often. Set it and forget it. Worst case scenario is you pop off the cover, adjust and back in business in 10 sec.

I've used Butler Creek caps for 30+ years.

The biggest downsides I've found are:

1) the newer ones don't last as long as they used to. Rubber seems harder or more brittle.
2) they're a pain if you are sharing a rifle with others. This was basically no issue at all to me until I started shooting with my kids. ETA: Meaning we are constantly refocusing.
3) sometimes the slip-over design is just big enough to push you to the next size taller scope ring, and that's a pain.

For my NF SHV I was able to get the Tenebrax-made NF front cap and it screws onto the lens instead of sliding over, and allowed me to keep the lowest rings possible.

I treat the Butler Creek caps as disposable - for what they cost if I lose one or two every year, I replace them and life goes on. I've ripped them off to refocus and I've broke them bumping them into the walls of deer stands and trees and whatnot. I don't think there's a perfect solution but for what the BCs cost I can replace them as needed.

I use the neoprene covers mainly as they provide the best protection when on imo.

For hunting I do throw on the Tenebrex covers and loose the neoprene cover.

I’d like to get some scope chaps as they look like they’d protect the body well when hunting

Butler Creek. As mentioned, they’re disposable. Break/lose one after a couple or three years and they’re $10-12 to replace.
