I’ve hunted off horses a lot, grew up cowboying etc. The horse deal is good if you have a big camp, are going in deep or elevation is tough. However like most people have said, you have to baby sit them. Water, feed, high line or fence. It just adds a whole other facet to the game. Not to mention the horse wrecks. Almost every year there is at least one. So if you’re not accustomed to that way of life it might come with a steeper learning curve.

I would be very reluctant to take on horses without experience and the development of the bond you get over time with your stock.
With that I have developed enough insight into what will set them off and be able to head the wrecks off.

The concept of being a pilgrim on a new adventure with horses might be like borrowing your neighbors wife for a weekend. Many unkowns there.
