Hornady New Dimension Dies?

I’ve used the basic Hornady Custom New Dimension dies on all my cartridges with good results.

A lot of handloaders use bushings or mandrels. I’ve never gone down that road.

Anyone else using FL does with an expanded ball like Hornady and getting good results?

I’m a hunter and recreational shooter, not a serious competitor.

What made you change your mind?
Added cost of the dies and bushings, added tinkering time, and no real measurable difference for a hunting/ recreational shooting rifle. I also had some bushing dies where I didn’t like how much of the neck they sized they seemed to not go down far enough.

I'm still like 80% Hornady 2 die FL set and bumping the shoulder back but have bushing dies for 6.5PRC and soon 6mm CM. Honestly I'm still not sure I'm creating any better ammo with the bushing dies as I am with the standard die setup. I did learn that adding bushings was expensive (an extra $15-30 to test if .001 neck tension improved)

Until recently my 6.5 Creedmoor was only loaded with Lee dies and it produced good groups but left a lot to be desired with bullet seating so I'm making the switch to something else soon with hopes of easier tuning and better seating depth consistency.

I’ve been using Hornady dies with the expander ball removed. Bump the shoulder. And then use expander mandrel in a 2nd step

Seems to me I’ve had great luck
With the Hornady dies.
