Looking to run the 165g interlock in my 300wsm since it shoots great with factory ammo, I’m curious if any of you have used this for hunting around 400-500 yards, I’m also curious what the minimum recommended fps is, let me know your experiences with this bullet, thanks

Anything you load in a 300 WM will keep it fast enough to perform, and the speed will make it shoot good inside 500. Past that, the bullet won’t be as efficient and start to slow very fast and get more significant drop and wind drift.

Interlocks have been my go to for many, many years. Farthest shot was 412, IIR, and have had great performance with them from .223- .300 WM and everything in between. I like them as they are generally easy to find and not too pricey.

I have ruined antelope capes at over 400 yards with the 140 btsp out of a 270 Win so don’t expect a 165 out of a 300 won’t perform fine at similar distances. The old interlock is a fine bullet

117gr interlock out of a 25-06 at 415 yards is my longest shot. It worked well on a large mule deer. High shoulder placement, went through both blades and spinal column, exited.

You have nothing to worry about.

I've watched my dad feed anything and everything out of his 300wm. Even the cheapest of stuff and it has performed wonderfully on game.
