Hornady describes difference between ELD-X and ELD Match

Mine too.

New leadership that made them actually test TMK’s in proper gel, and that cares more about demonstrable reality than tired beliefs.
I kinda wondered since y'all were testing the new 6mm offerings on game whether they would publicly market it as good in tissue. Sounds like the folks at the helm are keeping in touch with reality.

Not sure about in the states but in Canada eldx are 30-50% more expensive than eldm so their claim that they are essentially the same price is pretty overstated.
Pricing as of today on MidWayUSA:
ELD-M is $42.99
ELD-X is $46.99
Both from Hornady.
Thats an 11% difference in price if my back of napkin math is right.
Wonder why the price disparity in Canada?

That's for loaded ammunition? I was referring to cost of bullets which are approximately $67/ 100 for eldm and $97/ 100 for eldx when I was last looking, that was in .224. Loaded ammunition prices might be closer I don't buy factory so I don't know for sure.

Component price delta is only like 4% too. 47 cents for 147/140 EldM vs 50 cents for 143 EldX

Glad I’m not in Canada. Sheesh.

What exactly is "quartering hard?" Is that like when I see a Sydney Sweeney commercial?

Seriously though, why does everyone go to this magical shot angle that is somehow impossible? You mean to tell me that animal never presented or will present any other angle than HARD (so hard bro) quartering? It just appeared and will disappear without presenting any other shot?
See below photo for "quartering away hard". As far as "presenting another shot", CO has thick oak brush and I've had many shots like that with a bow and rifle and no issues, besides the one below.

I shot a mule deer in CO in basically the same place and angle last yr at just over 300 yds with a 140 ELDM (6.5 Creed 2700 fps muzzle velocity) and the bullet did not reach the lungs and no exit (obviously). I had to dry track the deer, found him bedded 3 hrs later and shot him again. For reference, the elk was shot with a bow at 49 yards with a 1.7" expandable that penetrated to the off shoulder. The bull died within 30 yards. Anecdotal, but shit happens.20201011_083303.jpg
