Any one have experience with either one or, better yet, both of these? I'm looking at them in 127 grain and 130 grain for the 6.5 PRC, first in factory loads and eventually in reloads. Use case would be for killing game up to, but not including, elk sized game at up to 650 yards. My main concern would be weather or not they would open up well at the further portion of that range. Of course accuracy would be a concern but I'll sort that part out.

I've also considered the hammer bullets.

No experience with Hammers but between the CX and LRX, I would choose the LRX, but when I shot them I limited my max range to keep the impact velocity above 2200fps because I wasn’t happy with their definition of expansion when I saw it in real life.

I agree. I use the LRX and keep it 2000+ fps and aim for shoulders/high shoulders generally.

What about short range hunting ? Inside of 200 yards. What would the wound channel look like with a 77 LRX at 2650-2700 FPS ? Haven’t seen any gel test for the 22-6mm monos at GT/creedmoor speeds

I kill hogs regularly with a .223 and 62 gr TTSX at 2850 mv. I don’t get off on extensive examination and critiquing “wound channels” and other nerdy stuff, but suffice it to say it makes a big mess and critters die fast. I would have zero reservations wrt terminal performance as long as they shot well in your barrel.
