“Honey, I need another rifle..”

I buy two at a time to minimize the number of times during the year that I have to say, “Honey, I’m headed to go pick up a gun.” Truthfully, my wife is pretty forgiving as long as I don’t give her a hard time about the stuff she gets.

This is cute. You guys should marry a barrel racing wife, scopes and rifles are cheap compared to her hobby.

We keep separate fun money accounts that we save money for our own interests. Keeps it honest and neither of us over spends from the accounts that actually matter.
Horses are stubborn and expensive. God bless those that are willing to butt heads with them.

My wife is really good. She grew up in a house where her dad acquired guns, a substantial number of them (most of which he needs to sell so I don't have to deal with them later). Finally bought another safe before Christmas to put some of the overrun in. Really need another safe but I think that she notices safes more than guns. Probably just need to quit buying more guns. Only gun on my radar is a Tikka in a 6mm Creedmoor when it comes out.

In full disclosure, I have a great wife.

So long as I save and nothing effects our kids (I’d never blow money when my family needed something) and her being able shop to an extent and go out with her friends once a month, she doesn’t fuss at all about what I spend money on.

Sometimes it just takes more saving time than I want it to, but in my experience that’s just life.

☝️This.

I'd also state that my wife's amazing too. I'm a "deal finder" and my rule of thumb is I have everything I need + a backup.

So I've built my arsenal over the last 20ish yrs

So right now, I only purchase things if its at my price, or its a slamming deal I can't pass up.

I have to admit its really nice being in the position that I basically have everything I need that its more about wants than needs now.

Like I'll wait and watch for something for a while until it drops to a sale and then pounce on it immediately. Every thing eventually goes on sale. Rarely am I in the position where I have to buy something ASAP and pay full price for it.

COVID really opened my eyes to getting things like ammo, and having "enough" to do the things I want to do and not have to worry about the market or not finding what I need. So now I've got double what I need so I can keep doing the things I want.

My wife knows this, so she's OK with it.

As long as it doesnt effect the mortgage, kids activities, gas/groceries or her ability to
