I thought I would toss this out there to see if anyone has any experience hiking or hunting in the Holy Cross Wilderness in Colorado? My son drew a mtn goat tag this year. I've spent a little time in the area but not recently. I'm just trying to pin down a few areas to start looking. You are welcome to pm me.

Jump on the CPW website, get the map of recent harvests over the past several years and get after it. Goats are going to be in the rugged areas, make sure you are in shape, trekking poles, proper hydration. Goats have been sticking close to heavily hiked areas in a lot of units to be around the urine from the hikers and also all the hikers feeding them treats.

Thanks for the info. I’m aware of the harvest reports. That unit just opened so there isn’t much data available. I’ve spent months in other goat units but this area is fairly new to me. You are right that goats hang out along trails with hikers. There is a 14er in the unit so likely has quite a bit of traffic.
