Hmmm my trekking pole legs look just like my tripod legs

Any of you crafty folks adapted your trekking pole legs to substitute for your tripod legs. My Black diamond carbon trekking pole legs are actually sturdier than my tripod legs so it would only seem logical that some tripod manufacturer would build a tripod head that would adapt to work with trekker poles. I'd much rather carry an extra trekking pole than a whole tripod. And then I'd have a back-up pole in case one broke in a.........Rokslide :D
 
That sounds like you are on to something there . Maybe you should explore this and think patten. This could be your million dollar idea!
 
Here is a link to the trekking pole mod I did. Works pretty good as a bipod so yeah, all you would need is a tripod head that allowed three of these to screw into it.

That's the ticket there colonel. Now I'm thinking aluminum base plate in a tri-spoke pattern with a hole centered for the tripod head to drop into. Off to the tinkering lab.......
