trying to decide between a Hill people gear recon pack with the bino pack attachmen. Vs the Alaska guid creation ravus with the cloth holster. I’ll be carrying a Glock 29. Looking to hear if its more comfortable with gun running under the bino like the HPG vs underneath with AGC. Thanks

I recently picked up a HPG kit bag, I really like their stuff. I just checked out the recon bag with bino pouch (both in MC arid) at the western hunt expo and was extremely tempted to buy it. I have the marsupial gear bino harness and just got there holster and it is really nice. If you don’t already have the harness, I’d suggest the HPG, when you aren’t using it for binos you can use the kit bag for fishing, hiking, etc.

I would go AGC with a Razco holster. I have been using this combo for a couple years and love it.

I picked up the Hill People Gear kit bag to use for a backcountry fishing trip in grizzly country. I carried a Glock 20 in it comfortably and with room to spare. Plus, as someone said above, it made for a great fishing chest pack as well. I could stick a box of flies, my wallet and phone and the Glock 20 in it and hang nippers and some hemostats. I’d recommend any of the Hill People bags and definitely think mine is well worth the price.

Which one are you using? Trying to decide between the snubby or the full recon. I’d be adding the bino pouch on the outside of either one I pick.

A Glock 29 would fit in the snubby, i’d go full size though, that would give you room to put a range finder or something on the front and a few more items in the back.

I think I’m using the regular kit bag. Probably a little bigger than for your needs. I love it though.

The kit bag was too big and hot on my chest. Much prefer the AGC harness over my Kenai Chest Holster.

So much personal preference. When I’m just wearing a bino harness I like the minimalist style like a Kuiu. I like it high and snug on my chest. My HP Recon rides like that and I if I’m carrying a handgun I much prefer that combo to wearing a harness over a chest holster. Just too many straps for me. But some people like that better like the post above. I just bought a cheap leupold bino pouch with molle to attach to the Recon to see if I liked the combo before I spent money on the HP one.

Did you add the Molly to leupold pouch or was it sold that way?

It’s this one. It had a couple molle attachments on the back. I’m sure the HP is made better. This one has no padding and the front opening top isn’t great (used to my Kuiu that opens the other way and stays open) but for 20$ thought I would try it out to see if I liked a stacked chest pack. With the full size recon I was able to mount my range finder on one side and a double mag pouch ( tight fit ) on the other side. I rarely take a spare mag but it works great for a tourniquet and my glasses.
