high powered scope

I personally no longer mess with Leupold scopes. The ones I have owned have generally been fine once sighted in, but have not tracked or repeated well. I have not used the specific scope you mention.

I prefer SWFA or Trijicon scopes.

Additionally, for what it’s worth, I don’t own a scope with more than 12x magnification.

I think you'll find that for hunting applications you'll rarely use the top end of something like that and limit yourself on close shots with it starting out at 7x. I have a nightforce NX8 4-32 and love everything about it. Other than being a little heavy I think its the best long range hunting scope out there right now if you're going to be dialing. With that said I find the eye box on the top end is very tight and usually end up in the 20-24x range for most of my target shooting. Every animal taken was probably somewhere between 12-20x.

What is your intended use for the scope?

As I have been shooting more and more, scope reliability has become a higher priority. I have owned many leupolds. I have never had an issue with them on light recoiling rifles, think rimfires and 223 based cartridges. I have had them lose zero, and worse, the front lens pop loose on larger rifles. I would encourage you to look at other brands. I like the fact that they are a US based company, even Oregon based. But if I have to use a companies warranty (which has been great btw) more than once, I don’t want to need to use it while I’m on a hunt. I have had only fantastic results with Maven optics. I just got my first SWFA and haven’t mounted it yet. It is very large and heavy for what it is (comparing it to other models). I’m guessing that is also speaking to its quality based on what I have read here. Time will tell for me.
