These t1x .22 rifles seem to get good reviews. I located a Lefty. I'm not interested in a trainer or any of that. Just looking for an accurate squirrel gun. It comes in a few hundred bucks cheaper than the tac sol .22.

Would you experts still give the Tikka a nod if your just shooting game?

The one time I've gotten out for squirrels it's killed them as dead as can be. I'd buy the 5 round magazine that is flush with the stock. It's much more comfy for me to carry than the 10rd.

I’m not an expert but I’ve had my t1x for but over a year now and I’m still really liking it. I’d definetly buy again without hesitation.

I put mountain tactical bottom metal on mine, I probably wouldn’t bother again with that but putting the recoil pad from a t3x on it made a big difference from the thin plastic butt plate it comes with.

I shoot mine with a dead air mask 22 and a banish 22. Great gun, get the 16” one and get a silencer for it.

Where can you get those 5rd magazines?

The internet? Looks like I bought mine from riflemags.co.uk for 15 British Pounds plus 10 pounds shipping. It's been a while but I'm assuming I couldn't easily find it in stock in the US

I've had poor luck with rimfire magazines outside the 10/22. It was my main hesitation with the Tikka. Thanks for the feedback

No expert, but my T1x does 2 MOA 10 shot groups with federal bulk pack and me behind the trigger. You could probably do better if you tried some more ammo, lightened the trigger, etc. Out of the box and 2,000 rounds with no problems.

Wanting to buy a 22lr for general plinking around, maybe small game hunting, just general shooting and having fun. I'm pretty anal, and have no use for inaccurate guns. Considering Tikka T1x (never had a bad Tikka), Bergara BMR, CZ 547, others in this $500'ish price range?
Find a nice used Marlin model 60 for $200 and throw rocks at other rimfires.

I ve had great reliability with the stock magazines in Tikkas, CZs and Ruger.
All are a great buy, I tried them all and ended up keeping my CZ American because it works great and it's the most classic looking.

I won a savage mark 2 minimalist last year. It’s a pretty accurate rifle for what it is. I’ve been using it as a truck and tractor rifle since I got it. Couple hundred rounds through it with no problems or feeding issues. Just mounted a CGS hydra on it a few days ago. With 45gr subs it’s quieter than a pellet rifle.
