I have 2 Scythe TI 30 cal cans and have had ZERO issues yet. I have been using them on 308's (3 different ones) 7 PRC, a few shots on a 300 PRC, 300 BLK out, 223, 6.5 CM and most recently on a 7mm BC (20 rounds) that I just purchased. It has a 16.25" barrel and just curious it there should be concern with the 80k psi of the BC with the short barrel and using the Scythe TI? If so what would be a good choice to look at getting for this setup?

Most of your pressure is in the cartridge/chamber. From what I know and I could be wrong, that doesn’t transition much to coming out of your barrel. The Scythe is a great can if it didn’t make me nervous as hell to run one. I got rid of mine. I did like it a lot though! Full disclosure, I sell US suppressors now. I’d be a lot more confident running one than a Scythe. But you already have the Scythes so not trying to sell you on one of our cans. Depends if you want to roll the dice I guess… I personally don’t like chancing things like that, but everyone is different. If you decide to get another can, shoot me a pm and I’d love to get you into one of our Reapers.

I would love to shoot you a PM but long time stalker and new to an account and not enough post lol. I am now somewhat worried about the Scythe bc my kids use them on their 308's. I do use the heat shield wraps but couldn't live with myself if something were to cause life long damage to one of them.

You’re PROBABLY okay. Usually they come apart in a perfect circle at a weld and the part that flies off ends up straight down range. They just kind of blow in half. Here’s my info. Feel free to get ahold of me if you decide to go my route. Email, call, text, whatever. I get it though, I let my kids shoot my guns too.

I have the same dilemma, but with only one Scythe. I can't believe I didn't find all of this info about failures before buying it back in Sept. I researched pretty heavily but wasn't a member here yet. Kinda sickening.
I'm pretty new to suppressors so cut me some slack on my ignorance. Would the bravo thread SiCo end caps/brakes be compatible with the Reaper? I've enjoyed the added recoil reduction of the brakes... I shoot a Seekins Havak Element in 300 win mag

Our Direct thread hub adapters are 1.375x24 which is the same as the Scythe. I believe the scythe uses a different sized end cap though…

Just spitballing here, but I think there could be an opportunity for a reputable company like Unknown to offer a suppressor that was compatible with Scythe components to gain the trust and loyalty of a bunch of disenchanted Scythe owners.
Probably a little too idealistic as I'm sure that retooling/redesigning to modify an existing product is no small task/expense... Just a thought as I sit here beating myself up for buying into the hype

I mean the hub is the same size so that’s 90% of what people will care about. I wouldn’t want put the tiny scythe brake on and not many people seem to be running aftermarket brakes on those. Plus SRS makes a way better brake for the reaper than what’s on the scythe for only $99 retail. Even less on sale.

I see where you’re coming from but I think the hub adapter size being the same is plenty of a plus.

Let me know if you need anything else. PM’s are always welcome too. I bought into the Scythe hype as well before I started selling US. On paper they’re a great can and I really liked it for the most part.

Solid points!
I liked the modularity of the Scythe so I used my credit to buy the bigger brake and a .223 endcap, but you're right, I'm probably in the minority as I only made those purchases to use my expiring credit.
I don't want to hijack the OP's thread, but want to post my questions/screw ups to help others who've made the same mistake find solutions. I may try to continue this in another thread.
Sounds like the Reaper may be all we'd hoped for in the Scythe.
Education isn't free, but I still hate having blown a grand to learn this lesson.
