Curious what is failing on the boots you like. Is the leather failing? Is the sole failing?
Do you clean/condition leather? Maybe avoid petroleum based products. Saddle soap to clean. Find something with a natural oil/beeswax blend to condition/protect.
If you are wearing heavily use on concrete sole wear out may be inevitable. A Norwegian welt style is designed to resole.
Thanks for all the suggestions from others, will be looking into them.

With the muck boots everything seems to fail. Rips on the outside, sole detachment, inner liner rubbing off.
With my work style boots it's partly the insoles getting compressed down but mostly the leather stretches out so far that the boots become sloppy. I've been through enough models that I now know this is inevitable so I'm trying to balance price with longevity.
I did pick up some Danner 650s and like them quite well out of the box. Almost a hybrid of hiker with really good sole. We'll see how they hold up.
Thanks for all the replies, I got to look at a lot of boots I haven't before.
