I am using an Area419 pic rail on mine. I’ll pay better attention to that next time I have it out.

Can I get more details on the modifications you made to the extractor?

Also running an Area 419 rail, obviously a popular choice. When googling I had seen a post somewhere where somebody was discussing the older style bolt and mag well/ejector. Their solution involved filing the inner surface of the extractor where it rests against the body of the bolt, but leaving the surface where it rests against the cartridge rim untouched. I don’t think the newer style bolt and extractor are 100% identical, but I figured worst case I just buy a new extractor. I also don’t know if those surfaces even touch when the cartridge is engaged on the bolt face but worth a shot. We are talking very minor filing, I used calipers and monitored progress. I removed between .002 and .003 of an inch.

Are you shooting suppressed? My t1x gets absolutely filthy towards the end of the winter ptarmigan season from shooting with a silencer. It really comes back to life with a good cleaning.

No, I’m not shooting suppressed.

@Dave_S did filling the extractor fix your problem?

Honestly, I’m not really sure. I took a real shotgun approach to fixing and tried a number of things all at once. The issue seems to have resolved, but all I can say for certain is that messing around with the extractor didn’t hurt me.
