Happy Thanksgiving to everyone.
Just got my SG yesterday so I wanted to do a little workout with it to test it

SG recommends having it so the grey to black fabric is over my collar bone. I'm a pretty big guy and I don't have much more adjustment of the shoulder straps upwards to do that. Trying to figure out why they didnt sew more velcro up the frame so you can adjust higher.

Here's a few pics to show what I'm talking about. I'm still not over my collar bone in this pic. And if I adjust any higher I'm going to be very short on velcro.

It does feel comfortable though. But im only running 25lbs right now.

I'm close to the recommended collar bone area. Here's a better pic. But I'm running out of useable velcro on the back.

I could be wrong but I believe the "break" is recommended to be a bit further back on your shoulder. I thought maybe it was the center of your shoulder rather than the collar bone. Not sure that it makes that big of a difference. Mine never ends up being exact when I have a load anyway. I have had a 179 pound bag of moose meat on my load shelf (don't ask) and it was fine. Go with what feels the best, you have plenty of Velcro coverage as you are but I think that your straps could stand to rotate a bit back. Like I said, I am sure someone will prove me wrong, but I believe when I got my pack 3 years ago it was recommended to be center of shoulder, but things could have changed. Congrats on buying the best pack out there by the way.

Take a picture from the side. Looks the like the bag is a long ways down your back. You may be going the wrong way. Looks to me like you need to shorten the shoulder straps with the velcro and tighten them a little more from the bottom.

Here's another one with the straps adjusted "down" so more velcro is engaged.

Here it is adjusted to where SG recommends. There is velcro engagement. Just not much.

Just curious, have you tried loading it up with more wt. (like say 100 lbs.), and see if you have any issues? I totally see your concern with the limited amount of attached Velcro when you get it adjusted properly and inline with your clavicle, but I wonder if maybe there's still enough for a decent connection. All that said, I would definitely give SG a call tomorrow and see what they think.

Looks ok in both last two pics. The clavicle adjustment really isn't that important, just a general guide line. The two more important things are the load lifters coming off at 45 degree angles and the shoulder straps maintaining full contact over your shoulders with weight in the pack.

I wouldn't get overly concerned with the clavicle position.

I haven't. I will though. I'll throw more weight in and try it. I'll email or call them and see what they say.

The fabric transition is probably going to end up higher on your torso than what they recommend in the fit videos - I had the same thing, and SG said not to worry about it. I have found it runs a little better for me with it (fabric transition) higher, but I think it’s a personal comfort thing.

If you run about 60-80 in the backpack for a short walk it might help determine what will be the best position for you.

as jmez stated the important fitment is the load lifters and those look fine; on mine I have a little over half of the Velcro showing w/ no ill effects

Hard to tell from the photos, but looks like your waist belt is riding too low by maybe a couple inches. Reach around your waist towards your back and press in with your fingers to find the top of your hip bones...then make sure the center line of the belt is resting on the top of those bones. When lined up that way the buckle will be right at your navel when the belt is level. Start by putting the pack on with the shoulder straps loose... it helps to lean well forward when cinching the belt into position. Tighten the belt very tight so it is riding on the hip bones, supporting the weight. Then look to your strap adjustment. I think you will need to slide the pads back down on the velcro. Your chest strap is low in the photos, and it looks like the lower ladder lock on the straps are tucked in way under your arms. I would not worry about exactly hitting your clavicle with the fabric joint. But I think it will end up somewhere between the clavicle and top of the shoulder when you get the adjustments dialed in. I find that tightening the upper belt adjustment web helps me keep the belt riding up on the hip bones. At first it felt odd to have the pack cinched that high, I wanted it down where I wear my pants belt, but it won't work like that...the pack just slips down and the shoulders catch all the weight. Anyway, this is how I got mine dialed in, and once I did I had good velcro lock again. If your belt is positioned correctly, and you are as muscular and bulky as you look in the photos, then I agree with the previous two posts and the photo showing the fabric line at the top of your shoulder should work. I am not as bulky as you but have a long torso and my stays look higher above my shoulders to me in the mirror than yours are, which is why I thought the belt may be riding too low. Do make your adjustments with your load lifters sloppy loose.

I had the same issue......trying to get the black to the collar bone. Then I loaded up the pack with 80lbs and adjusted everything until it was the most comfortable for me. The black ended up closer to the top of my shoulder than my collar-bone.

How tall are you ? I have the same frame KRUX EVO. I am 6'5" and 265 pounds the frame is 26" I talked to them as well about fitting the pack. Here's the short of it... it ain't gonna fit like the video says it will. I am not going to get as much benefit from the load lifters either. That being said I like the pack and the frame carries weight really well. I would probably need a 28" frame to get it to fit me as most suggest. I was told the pounds per square inch breaking strength on the velcro but I can't recall it. I only have about 3 inches on each side connected and have not had any issues with it.

I'm 6'1" measured a 20" torso and weight about 213lbs.
35" waist. I got the medium belt but I'm almost thinking I should have got the large. Not sure.

I loaded up 65lbs and adjusted it to the most comfortable and it feels ok. Just not great. I ended up ordering a kifaru as well to compare to. And I'm thinking of just getting a seekoutside for the heck of it. And returning whatever dosesnt feel the best.
To me, I want whatever carries the most weight the best for me. Bag layout is going to be a far 2nd for importance.

Here's a few more pics. 65lbs loaded. I'm open to suggestions. It feels like this is about as good as it gets in this pic but I'll try anything.

I dont have a belt on my pants so its pulling them down a bit.

Also, when you load it, try and get the wt. up as high as possible. So maybe pack some light wt., bulky stuff on the bottom, then put your heavy stuff on top of that. The wt. will ride much better and give you a better feel for the pack/frame.

Yep, this ^^^ I use a 40 pound bag of water softener salt, 6$ at Wal-Mart, it is thicker and displaces weight more realistically like you are carrying gear or a meat load. It also expands the bottom of the shelf to wrap around the bag. I like the bottom of the weight at least 5 inches above the belt line. Otherwise it looks good
