Another note, white tail buck are typically much easier to draw than any deer tags which is what I typically do (often even some leftover tags around). I hunted as a resident there for the last 15 years so was able to get a few buck tags per year between special buck, muzzleloader, west river, east river, black hills deer and archery. This year I moved and now as a nonresident and considering changes to the system and how draw odds have gotten worse it’s going to be much tougher to get much. Its funny, over the past week i just started looking at their draw statistics. Very surprised to see how difficult it was for nonresidents to draw tags in the western part of the state. I am currently doing more research on SDs website. Arent the archery tags relatively easier?
Good note on archery though. It’s OTC for resident and about 80% draw without points for non resident if I remember correctly.
