I am relatively novice when it comes to diy rifle work. I’ve always been a buy it and shoot it kind of guy. I am also just starting to get in to long range shooting as a secondary hobby to archery. I picked up a bergara b14 ridge for a fairly good price. I am thinking about putting a chassis underneath. I would like to keep it within, meaning don’t want to step up in to the j Allan chassis.

The gun will be primarily used as a bench gun.
My questions are

What chassis/stock would you pick and why?
Will I need to buy a kit to convert to take mags?
Should I update trigger at the same time?
Muzzle brake recommendations self timing or have gunsmith installed

Any input would be great

I have a friend that has a Bergara Ridge in a 6.5cm. He just put it in a KRG Bravo. As far as I’m concerned it’s a great option price wise. Looks and feels great to!

If the current stock is comfortable to you, I'd just shoot the hell out of it for now. Through shooting it more you'll figure out exactly which features are important to you. You might also consider taking it to some local matches and trying your hand. A lot of the matches where I live have people using off the shelf systems, so there's a "class" of sorts you can compete in without feeling outgunned by the jersey sporting sponsored shooters. It's also very common at those types of shoots for other shooters to let you fondle/try out their systems, so you get experience with different setups without dropping money on the wrong gear for you

Good advice and thank you. I am experienced enough as a shooter to know most of what I like and don’t like. I might get in to competition at some point but for now it’s mostly competing with myself

I will look in to these and reach out. I truly appreciate when a manufacturer is involved on the forums. Says a lot about the company.
