Hey what’s up everyone. With all the sales going on, I’m trying to see if I need to purchase any additional clothing for next year elk hunt in Oregon. So listed below is what I have. I want to see what setup you guys recommend to pack. If I am missing anything clothing related, please mention it. The clothing is from first lite.

Jackets
  • puffy
  • catalyst
  • sawtooth

Pants
  • north branch pants
  • kanab pants
  • corrugate

Layers
  • halstead fleece
  • chama 230g top
  • furnace 350g top
  • aerowool wilkin 150g top
  • aerowool fuse 200g bottoms
  • Allegheny 230g bottoms

The Sanctuary is great for treestand hunting in the cold but it is not something I'd consider packing with me for Elk hunting. I haven't tried any of FL newer jackets yet, so I can't comment. I do love my Sitka Jetstream and with a puffy packed along, it's a versitle combo.

I have all 3 of the pants you mentioned. All are good, none fits all situations or scenarios. I like my Sitka Timberlines best of all.

I think all your layers are excellent choices and work well over a verity of hunts. FL Merino and Merino blends are the best IMHO.

I took the sanctuary off the list cause it is for tree stand hunting.
What I am wondering, with what I have, what should I pack? Also what extra should I buy? I also have

Kuiu attack pants, alpine pants, guide jacket and a few layers.

Where in Oregon? My list for coastal bulls, eastern Prarie bulls and eagle cap bulls are all very different.

I think the only thing I'd add would be gaiters. If it's wet you wear the north branch with low exertion. If you're hiking you have the corrugate with base layers and gaiters.

Puffy keeps you warm.

I wore wilkin and chama in fairly cool temps. Had a thermoball vest for real cold mornings. Full jacket will get the job done on cold days.

Ps: you have a lot of clothes. I think you'll be ok. Haha

Yeah i have bought pieces slowly through the years. Use them and love them. I’ve never gone out west so I am trying to figure out what to pack. I don’t want to over pack but I want to ready for the adventure

Also what gaiter do you recommend? Also will the uncompahdre puffy first lite be enough or should I look at something like the kifaru LPP?
