Help me score this 5x5 please

Knowing the score on your bull may help you learn to judge bulls on the hoof if you ever go on a trophy hunt.
Put a tape to it after the mount is done for your info.

Agree on the 250ish range for score.
Good bull and congrats on the take !!
Will do. Thanks!

Nice bull the score is in your hunt and the killing of a decent bull elk. Things perhaps a lot of hunters hope for I know I do one day perhaps. Congrulations

Update on past post on guessing the score if my 5x5. It grossed 285. Very happy with it. View attachment 1019656View attachment 1019657

this photo he looks like a brute. 285 i guess he was!

Who cares as long as OP is happy.
In his defense the OP wanted to talk about score not happiness. It’s an honest question. Anyone can print out a score sheet and put a tape measure to antlers. But that’s not the same as an official scorer. I scored a bull of my own once. I was surprised at the difference once I actually had it scored. I learned a lot watching him do it and he was definitely more accurate than I was. And I thought I did a pretty good job by the book. On the happiness… it’s a 10 out of 10! A great 5 point.

I think these guys are shorting you with the 240’s and 250’s looks like a 280” ish bull to me. The 5x5 in my picture was 260” and yours looks bigger

I appreciate everyone’s input and understand the importance of asking questions and keeping those honest.
I do taxidermy, though I’m not a certified Boone & Crockett official measurer. That said, with the proper tools and knowledge, scoring an animal correctly isn’t difficult.
Field judging, however, is a skill that takes time to develop and is never perfect. I estimated this bull’s front tines at around 18", but they measured 16¼"R and 17¼"L. I use a tape, thin steel cable, and tape measure to get accurate measurements.
At the end of the day, the exact numbers aren’t what matter most. Enjoying the hunt and sharing the experience with others is what truly makes it great. That was my intent here.
