How are you going to use this rifle? Is this for shooting antelope across the hood of a pickup truck? Or hiking into the backcountry? Etc?

It would appear you have no plans to suppress this rifle?

Do you have any idea of a final overall weight?

Without knowing your intended role, it’s hard for me to give any advice.

Don't really care about the weight strictly a whitetail rifle out here in NC. Might do a western mule deer hunt some day but no plans in the future.

Always kinda laugh to myself at the carbon hate here. I own a bunch of them and most of the stuff I hear spouted is untrue.

With that said I have a Proof 25 Creed prefit I just screwed onto an Origin a week ago. It’s been crazy accurate right from the start and I was stacking 10 rounds in a bit over a 1/2”. Shoots great. I’d rather shoot now than wait, but that’s just me.

If you insist on building a rifle piece-by-piece for that, go for it, but I would just get a Tikka T3X lite in .243 with 1:8” twist or 6.5 CM or .270 as your base rifle. EuroOptic should still have some decent deals, especially if you don’t want it threaded. If you are hunting from a blind or stand, I’d get an SWFA 10x scope for it. That is a reliable budget option. I used one for still hunting this past season without any issues. Served me very well in the mature hardwoods where I still hunt.

Then I would hunt and shoot with that while watching the classifieds and sales to get the upgrades you want - starting with the stock. You might find that once you have the stock you want, that you don’t have any reason to change the barrel out. If you do get a new barrel however, I would look really hard at a 1:7.5” twist for the 25 CM.

I agree with the above. For your purpose a 25 creed is not needed, but to each their own. Buy a factory Tikka and upgrade as you can afford. I personally would just buy the 1:8 243 and call it a day. Aftermarket stockys VG or Rokstock and a SWFA 3-9 and I promise you it will kill anything out west past what you should be shooting.( no insult Inteded)

If I were unexpectedly “blessed” and had rifles I could use, I’d wait for parts and build something you really want.

I have the aforementioned 8” twist T3x in 243 and 6.5 CM. They are great hunting rifles.

BUT, my favorite is my 257 Roberts.
